Julius Caesar was known for being a great leader, conqueror, politician and writer. Caesar’s father died when he was just a young teenager. And he was married at the young age of 17 years old to Cornelius Cinna’s. Caesar became discouraged shortly after his marriage to Cornelius when her mother ordered them to divorce. It was at this time young Caesar joined the army and devoted his life to becoming an excellent soldier. Caesar got word that Sulla, Cornelius’ mother, had died and he returned to Rome to begin his political career. Without much success Caesar set out sail over the seas where he was kidnapped by pirates. After his ransom was paid Caesar traveled around the Roman Empire to start a revolution. Caesar’s first wife passed away and he then became married to Pompeia for political reasons. He acquired many loans and was recognized for organizing the olympics. Caesar went on to cause many upsets in the empire and had quite a few enemies. At which time a civil war was started. This grabbed the attention of an Eqyptian queen, Cleopatra. She soon won his attention and love.

You can choose to wear a Caesar Toga costume that portrays him as a soldier; or choose a one that resembles Caesar as a Roman Emperor.

Another great Roman general and, also a loyal friend to Gaius Julius Caesar, was the great military commander, Marcus Antonius (Marc Antony). Antony fought in Caesar’s civil war and he continued to fight in many battles. He was defeated in the Battle of Actium by Octivian. After the death of Cesar, Antony captured the love and heart of Cleopatra. They remained together until death.
